Please read the following carefully before applying to volunteer with us.
Volunteer Terms & Conditions (Tea & Chocolate Festival 2017)
Age
You must be 16 years or over to be considered for a volunteer position.
Email Access
It is preferable that you have access to a current and usable email address as all applications and most correspondence will occur via email.
Confidentiality
All information and processes associated with the volunteer position are to be considered as confidential
Position & Shift
Volunteers can request position and shift through our sign-up form, but we cannot guarantee you will receive your preferred choices. We give them out in a fair manner and try to accommodate all volunteers’ requests and needs. Position and shifts will be confirmed by management.
Photo ID
To be a volunteer you must provide us with a valid photo identification when requested.
If we accept your application:
We will provide you a free ticket to Tea & Chocolate Festival 2017, in exchange for a minimum of one 6-hour shift.
We will provide you an festival Volunteer T-Shirt, which you are required to wear during your shift(s). The t-shirt is yours to keep once your placement is over.
We will provide you an $10 voucher to be used at one of our sponsor’s booth.
We will provide you a supportive working environment, with the opportunity to immerse yourself within tea and chocolate culture while gaining festival work experience.
We appreciate you applying to volunteer for 2017 festival. If we accept your application:
We expect you to bring a positive attitude and act with maturity, courtesy and reliability through all your designated tasks during the festival.
Report to the person designated by us to manage your activities as a volunteer. You must co-operate fully with Festival Managers and Coordinators at all times. It is your responsibility to communicate with the management should you have any issues before, during or after the festival.
Take good care of any property we give to you, and return the same to us on completion of your volunteering activities;
You must comply with all safety requirements associated with your volunteer position. All positions require closed toed shoes. i.e. no sandals, flip flops, bare feet, etc.
You must complete all shift requirements as stipulated by the volunteer job description. If you are unable to do a shift due to illness, injury or family emergency, you must contact the volunteer coordinator immediately.
You must take care of your own property while at the festival. We take no responsibility for any personal belongings lost/stolen/damaged on-site.
In consideration for being allowed to voluntarily participate in the above-referenced activity and or intramural event, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives, heirs, next of kin, successors and assigns, I forever:
You are personally liable for your own health.
